Alison has a lifelong passion for promoting wellness and healing. Her expertise combined with kindness and great ability to educate people on self-care and compassion is a highly valued aspect of the care she provides. Alison's formal training in the healing arts began with a BS in Nutrition at the University of Houston followed by her completion of the Physician Assistant Studies program at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. She is recognized as a Certified Practitioner by the Institute for Functional Medicine. In addition to experience in the traditional fields of Family Medicine with Obstetrics, Urgent Care, and Psychiatry, Ali is certified as an Advanced Yoga Professional, is a Metabolic Typing Adviser, and a Masters Level Reiki practitioner. She continues to attend conferences in functional and integrative medicine and nutrition, as well as, maintaining board certification with the NCCPA since 1994. Her approach to patients has always been individualized and compassionate and includes the use of nutrition, lifestyle, and mind-body therapeutics with each encounter. Alison's mentors and supervising physicians are Robert C Rountree MD and Nancy Brown MD.
